How much is the fee for a Walking
Possession?
By law, the bailiff attending at either your home or business
can only charge fees agreed under Statutory Legislation. For the
collection of Council Tax & Business Rates the fees are set
at £24.50 for a first
visit with a second visit fee
being at a reduced rate of £18.00
Where the bailiff is able to earn a more respectable amount of
money is by encouraging you to sign a “Walking
Possession”. By persuading you to sign this, the
bailiff’s fees increase in that he can then charge a further
flat rate fee of £12 for entering
into a Walking Possession when collecting for Council Tax or a
daily fee of 55p ( for 14 days) when
collecting on unpaid Parking Charge Notices.
